Women's History Month 2023: Celebrating Women Who Tell Stories

It’s already March in the blink of an eye and 2023 does seem to be moving fast. However, March is always a revered month since it is Women's History Month, a time to commemorate the contributions of women throughout history.

What's the theme for Women's History Month 2023?

The theme for Women's History Month in March 2023 is 'Celebrating Women Who Tell Stories’ as a tribute to honour and recognise the immensely important contribution that women have made in storytelling throughout history.

The power of stories and the art of storytelling is greater than all of us. The written and spoken words etched into the pages of history resonate across the globe to amplify voices and shared issues, and unite us all through empathy, healing and transformation.

From the ancient myths and legends to contemporary literature and cinema, women have played a vital role in shaping the world of storytelling. They have used their stories to educate, entertain, and inspire people around the world, and their contributions have had a lasting impact on our culture and society. As we continue to celebrate Women's History Month, we will honour and recognise the powerful legacy of historical and present women storytellers who have paved the way for future generations from Donna Tartt and Amelia Earhart to Amanda Gorman and many more inspiring women in the coming days.

Bottom Line

Women's History Month is an opportunity to celebrate the progress that has been made towards gender equality while also taking a pause to acknowledge that there is still work to be done.
